How to clean the trash can correctly?

1. Wash and clean the trash can
You can use dish soap or baking soda, soak the trash can with warm water and then rub the products, let it stand for at least 10 minutes and then rinse it very well with hot water to help remove any residue it may contain, try to get the water to go through all the surfaces of the trash can.
2. Dry with paper towels
You can help yourself with paper towels or absorbent cloth, so we will be eliminating the product used in the previous step and allow us to use another product to do its function properly.
3. Rub the inside of the trash can
The time has come for disinfection because this is an important step in cleaning the trash can. There is no complete cleaning without proper disinfection, so we will use a disinfectant spray or bleach diluted in water; how will we do this? by using 1/8 cup or 30 ml of bleach or diluted in 1 liter of hot water.
Then, rub the solution with a brush with a long handle inside the trash can. After that, let the spray or solution stand for 10 minutes and finally brush.
At the end of this step, we will continue to rinse the trash can with water, trying to remove the product we use to disinfect.
4. Let it dry
In the last step, we will remove the excess water from the trash can, we can help ourselves with paper towels or a dry cloth, but the most important thing is to let it dry outdoors, so the ventilation will help dry it naturally and avoid bad odor, and the result is effective and expected.
After it is completely dry, you can put a plastic garbage bag on it and it will be ready to use.
Don’t forget to wash and clean the outside surfaces of the trash can because they can also accumulate germs and bacteria. By doing so, you will also take care of the look of the trash can and, it will look clean and shiny like the challenge of your kitchen.
These steps are recommended to be done every 1 or 2 weeks and to throw away the garbage daily, if you do it often, less odor will permeate and keep the trash can clean and disinfected.
