Stainless steel appliances and kitchen wares are most times preferred for use because they are easy to clean and maintain. It has resistance against rusting and corrosion which makes it durable and long lasting. Cleaning stainless steel is easier than cleaning other types of materials. Nevertheless, the cleaning task must be done regularly and with the appropriate designed cleaning products and materials.

There are several methods of cleaning stainless steel but these three are the more suitable and easy methods to clean stainless steel

Warm water and clean cotton wipes

Cleaning stainless steel with warm water and cotton wipes or rag is the best method for your routine cleaning. This method is commonly used on stainless plates, cups, and bottles. Warm water will rinse off the dust and stains on the surface of the stainless steel. The warm water is chlorides free and so prevents rusting and corrosion. You are free to rinse your stainless steel with warm water as much as possible.

Method

Rinse your stainless steel with warm water and the clean off the water with a clean damp cotton rag. Do not leave the water dots on the stainless to dry up by itself because the minerals present in water can stay on it and appear as white stains. Continue to wipe until no water is seen on the material then place it down to dry properly before stacking or storing them in the cabinet. Allow natural air to dry the stainless sink.

Using white vinegar and olive oil

Applying a white vinegar and olive oil after cleaning dirty or use stainless steel materials will help to restore its shiny and glittering polished appearance. This method is used after you have washed your stainless steel with soap and damp water. However, it can also be used for your stainless steel routine cleaning.

Method to apply white vinegar

Spray some white vinegar on a damp cotton wipe and evenly apply it against the surface of your stainless steel material. Make sure that every part of the stainless steel is wiped in a direction of the steel grain to remove all stains, spots and grimes. Allow to sit for a few minutes and then dip or spay some olive oil on the cotton wipe to clean the stainless steel. If a trace of the olive oil remains on the material use a dry clean cloth to clean it off. The olive oil will restore the shiny lucre of your stainless steel.

Using a Glass cleaner or club soda

Fingerprints can easily stay on stainless steel when touched, therefore using a glass cleaner or a club soda will keep your stainless steel free of fingerprint stains. You are free to use any common glass cleaner.

Spray some glass cleaner or club soda directly on your appliance and wipe with a microfiber cloth in a circular motion over the surface of the stainless steel. Repeat this until the fingerprint stain is removed, then rinse with warm water and dry with a clean towel.
