To keep the home clean and neat, at some point we need a deep clean, in this way we will be emphasizing areas that we do not cover in the basic cleaning that we do periodically.
How often is it recommended to deep clean the house? What do we need to do it? Not sure when or how to start?
We recommend start with an action plan:
Gather your cleaning tools
The most basic and essential thing is to gather cleaning materials or tools, good quality cleaning products, which we can find countless brands, all depending of your preference. Among other we have:
- Vacuum cleaner, broom
- Bucket and mop
- Brushes, cleaning cloths
- Cleaning solutions or liquids
To all this we can include disinfectant sprays, solutions with natural products and other materials that we can have at home and it helps us when we start the cleaning task.
When and where to deep clean
We must establish the frequency to clean deeply, it can be once a year or every six months and it all depends of the need and size of your home, but there are tasks that can be realized when you want.
By having a clear idea of where to start your deep cleaning, you’ll be prepared with the right supplies for the specific tasks in each room.
Then you need to collect all the visible things that could get in the way of cleaning and put them in their places, this makes cleaning easier and it will protect the items from dust in the room.
You can prioritize your cleaning home on this way:
1. Bedrooms and living rooms
We should start with objects that they are high in the room, such as ceiling fans, curtains, lighting. Then sweep and apply dust repellent to avoid the accumulation of this in the future. Then suck up the tapestry, rugs and remove stains from them.
Cleaning wooden flooring, sweeping and scrubbing them, you can also apply a thin layer of wax to protect them from liquids that cause damage.
Change bedding, disinfect mattresses, pillows and articles of common use. And pay attention to the places where we do not usually clean and do it at that time.
2. Bathroom and laundry room
You need the cleaning products, it can be natural according your choice; clean those areas where you regularly forget or don’t pay importance in their cleaning.
Disinfect, clean or replace rugs and shower curtains, tidy up and clean cabinets, walls, floors, taps, filters or among others.
Besides of clean the washing machine, dryer and give maintenance to these appliances, which is very important, because it helps us to save time in housework.
3. Kitchen
Clean surfaces and interiors of cabinets, clean and organize the refrigerator. Also, don’t forget to clean ovens and microwaves, if you don’t do this regularly it can become very tedious and require more dedication and cleaning of these appliances. To eliminate odors from the garbage disposal you can pass salt water and lemon peels into it, this will help you to eliminate them.
It’s advisable to wear gloves and not mix different chemicals, it can be dangerous and counterproductive to our health.
